CeraVe Moisturising Cream for Dry to Very Dry Skin

This CeraVe moisturising cream provides long-lasting hydration for dry to very dry skin on your face and body. The 454g pump bottle contains a fragrance-free formula developed with dermatologists to restore your skin's natural protective barrier. You can use this ceramide moisturiser daily to help maintain healthy-looking skin whilst reducing dryness and roughness.

The non-comedogenic formula absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue, making it suitable for daily use on all skin types. This body moisturiser contains three essential ceramides that work together to help restore and maintain your skin's natural barrier function.

How CeraVe's Ceramide Technology Works

The formula contains ceramides 1, 3, and 6-II, which are naturally occurring lipids that help form your skin's barrier and retain moisture. These ceramides work alongside niacinamide (vitamin B3) to help calm your skin and reduce the appearance of irritation. The patented MVE (MultiVesicular Emulsion) technology provides controlled release of moisturising ingredients throughout the day.

Hyaluronic acid in the formula helps attract and retain moisture in your skin, whilst dimethicone provides a protective layer to prevent water loss. This combination helps maintain hydration levels for up to 24 hours after application.

Who Should Use This Dry Skin Cream

This sensitive skin cream is suitable for adults and children with dry to very dry skin conditions. You may find it particularly beneficial if you experience rough, flaky, or tight-feeling skin that needs intensive moisturisation. The gentle formula makes it appropriate for sensitive skin types and those prone to irritation.

This moisturiser is ideal for:

  • Daily hydration of dry skin on face and body
  • Supporting compromised skin barrier function
  • Maintaining moisture in sensitive or reactive skin
  • Use alongside other skin care treatments

Why Choose a Fragrance-Free Formula

The fragrance-free formulation reduces the risk of skin irritation and allergic reactions, making it suitable for those with sensitive skin or fragrance sensitivities. This approach allows the active moisturising ingredients to work effectively without potential irritants that could compromise your skin's comfort.

The absence of added fragrances also makes this cream suitable for use on children's delicate skin and for those following dermatologist recommendations to avoid potential allergens in skincare products.

Dermatologist-Developed Formulation

This moisturising cream has been developed with dermatologists to ensure it meets the needs of dry and sensitive skin types. The formula undergoes testing to confirm its non-comedogenic properties, meaning it won't clog your pores or contribute to breakouts.

Store the product at room temperature and keep the pump mechanism clean to maintain product integrity. The large 454g size provides excellent value for regular use on larger areas of your body.

This product is a medicine. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking other medicines.

How to Apply CeraVe Moisturising Cream

Apply the cream to clean, dry skin as needed throughout the day. Use gentle, upward strokes to massage the product into your skin until fully absorbed. You can use this moisturiser on your face and body, avoiding the immediate eye area.

For optimal results, apply the cream whilst your skin is still slightly damp after bathing or washing, as this helps lock in additional moisture. The pump dispenser allows for easy, hygienic application without contaminating the remaining product.

When to Use Your Moisturiser

You can apply this cream morning and evening as part of your daily skincare routine. If you have very dry skin, you may benefit from more frequent application throughout the day, particularly after hand washing or exposure to harsh weather conditions.

The formula is suitable for use under makeup and won't interfere with other skincare products when applied in the correct order. Allow each layer to absorb fully before applying additional products.

Possible Side Effects of CeraVe Moisturising Cream

Like all medicines, CeraVe Moisturising Cream can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. Most people tolerate this moisturiser well due to its gentle, dermatologist-tested formulation, though some individuals may experience mild skin reactions when first using creams and ointments containing new ingredients.

The most commonly reported side effects are mild and typically resolve as your skin adjusts to the product. These reactions are usually temporary and may indicate that your skin is adapting to the new moisturising routine.

Possible side effects may include:

  • Mild skin irritation or redness at application site
  • Temporary stinging or burning sensation
  • Skin dryness or flaking during initial use
  • Mild itching or tingling
  • Temporary skin sensitivity
  • Minor allergic reactions in sensitive individuals
  • Skin tightness after application
  • Temporary changes in skin texture

If you experience these or any other side effects, speak to your doctor or pharmacist right away. For more information about reporting side effects please see the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
