Avene Very High Protection SPF50 Tinted Sun Cream for Dry Sensitive Skin

This SPF50 tinted sun cream provides very high protection against UVA and UVB rays whilst offering light coverage for an even skin tone. Formulated specifically for dry and sensitive skin types, it contains Avene Thermal Spring Water known for its soothing and anti-irritating properties.

The cream offers broad-spectrum protection with a sun protection factor of 50+, helping to prevent sunburn and premature skin ageing. Its tinted formula provides natural-looking coverage whilst protecting your skin from harmful UV radiation during daily activities and sun exposure.

How This Sun Protection Works

The formula combines mineral and chemical UV filters to create a protective barrier on your skin's surface. These filters work by absorbing, reflecting, and scattering UV radiation before it can penetrate the skin and cause damage.

The tinted formulation contains iron oxides that provide light coverage whilst the moisturising base helps maintain skin hydration. This dual action makes it suitable for daily wear as both sun protection and light makeup base. For comprehensive protection, you may also consider browsing our skin care range for complementary products.

Who Should Use This Sunscreen

This product is specifically designed for adults and children over 6 months with dry and sensitive skin who require high sun protection with light tinting. It's particularly suitable for those who experience irritation from regular sunscreens or prefer a product that combines protection with coverage.

  • People with dry or sensitive skin prone to sun sensitivity
  • Those seeking high SPF protection with natural-looking tint
  • Individuals who prefer fragrance-free sun protection
  • Anyone requiring daily facial sun protection for outdoor activities

Why Choose Photostable Protection

This sun cream features photostable filters that maintain their protective efficacy when exposed to sunlight, ensuring consistent protection throughout wear. The water-resistant formula helps maintain protection during light water exposure and perspiration.

The hypoallergenic formulation is tested on sensitive skin and contains minimal ingredients to reduce the risk of skin reactions. It's free from fragrances and parabens, making it suitable for those with reactive skin conditions.

Clinical Suitability and Storage Requirements

This product has been dermatologically tested and is suitable for sensitive skin types. Store below 25°C and avoid direct sunlight to maintain the stability of the UV filters and preserve the product's efficacy.

Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use and check the expiry date regularly. Once opened, use within 12 months for optimal protection and performance.

This product is a medicine. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking other medicines.

How to Apply Your Sun Protection

Apply the sun cream generously and evenly to clean, dry skin at least 20 minutes before sun exposure. Use approximately 2mg per square centimetre of skin, which equates to about half a teaspoon for the face and neck area. Ensure complete coverage of all exposed areas including around the eyes, ears, and hairline.

Blend the tinted formula evenly across your skin using gentle circular motions until fully absorbed. The tint will adapt to provide natural-looking coverage that evens out your skin tone whilst delivering protection.

Reapplication and Maintenance

Reapply every two hours during sun exposure, or more frequently after swimming, towelling, or excessive perspiration. Even water-resistant formulations require regular reapplication to maintain effective protection throughout the day.

For daily use, apply each morning as the final step in your skincare routine, before makeup if desired. The tinted formula can serve as a light foundation base or be worn alone for natural coverage with sun protection.
