Avene Very High Protection Children Sun Cream SPF50+ 100ml

This children sun cream SPF50 provides broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays for young, delicate skin. Formulated specifically for children's sensitive skin, it offers very high sun protection factor to help prevent sunburn and long-term skin damage during outdoor activities.

The cream contains mineral and chemical UV filters that work together to create a protective barrier on your child's skin. Avene thermal spring water is included in the formulation to provide soothing properties for sensitive skin types.

How This Kids Sunscreen SPF50 Works

The sun protection works through a combination of UV filters that absorb and reflect harmful solar radiation before it can penetrate your child's skin. The SPF50+ rating means it blocks approximately 98% of UVB rays when applied correctly.

The water-resistant formula maintains its protective properties during swimming and sweating, though reapplication is still necessary after towelling or extended water exposure. This makes it suitable for active children who spend time playing outdoors or at the beach. For comprehensive protection of your child's delicate skin, you may also want to explore our skin care range for additional moisturising products.

Who Should Use This Children Sunscreen

This sun protection is designed for children aged 6 months and older with all skin types, particularly those with fair or sensitive skin that burns easily. It's suitable for daily use during sunny weather and essential for beach holidays, outdoor sports, and extended time in the sun.

  • Children with fair, sensitive, or easily burned skin
  • Kids who spend significant time outdoors or participate in water activities
  • Children living in or visiting areas with high UV exposure
  • Those who need reliable, long-lasting sun protection during school trips or holidays

Why Choose Very High Sun Protection for Children

Children's skin is significantly thinner and more vulnerable to UV damage than adult skin, making high SPF protection essential. The SPF50+ rating provides maximum defence against harmful rays that can cause immediate sunburn and contribute to long-term skin damage.

The gentle formulation is designed to minimise the risk of skin irritation while providing effective protection. Regular use of high SPF sun protection during childhood helps establish good sun safety habits and reduces the risk of skin problems later in life.

Dermatologically Tested for Sensitive Skin

This sun cream has undergone dermatological testing to ensure it's suitable for children's sensitive skin. The hypoallergenic formula is designed to minimise the risk of allergic reactions and skin irritation.

Store the product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Check the expiry date before each use and replace if the product has changed colour, consistency, or smell. Keep out of reach of children when not in use.

This product is a medicine. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking other medicines.

How to Apply Sun Protection Correctly

Apply the sun cream generously to all exposed areas of your child's skin 15-30 minutes before sun exposure. Use approximately 2mg per square centimetre of skin, which equates to about a teaspoon for the face and neck area. Ensure even coverage and pay particular attention to easily missed areas such as ears, feet, and the back of the neck.

Reapplication and Maintenance Guidelines

Reapply the sun cream every 2 hours or immediately after swimming, towelling, or excessive sweating, even if the product claims to be water-resistant. Apply more frequently during peak sun hours between 10am and 4pm when UV radiation is strongest. Remember that no sun cream provides 100% protection, so combine with protective clothing, hats, and shade whenever possible.
