AgaMatrix WaveSense Jazz Duo Test Strips for Blood Glucose Monitoring

These jazz duo test strips are designed for use with the AgaMatrix WaveSense Jazz Duo blood glucose meter. Each pack contains 50 individual test strips that provide accurate blood glucose readings for people managing diabetes. The strips use advanced biosensor technology to deliver reliable results from a small blood sample.

You can use these test strips to monitor your blood glucose levels at home or while travelling. The strips are individually wrapped to maintain their stability and accuracy until you need them.

How WaveSense Technology Works

The WaveSense technology in these test strips uses dynamic electrochemistry to measure glucose levels in your blood. When you apply a blood sample to the strip, enzymes react with the glucose to create an electrical signal. The meter then converts this signal into a glucose reading displayed on the screen.

This technology helps reduce interference from other substances in your blood that might affect the accuracy of traditional glucose test strips. The strips require only a small blood sample of 0.5 microlitres to provide a reading.

Who Should Use These Test Strips

These test strips are suitable for adults and children with diabetes who need to monitor their blood glucose levels regularly. They work with the AgaMatrix WaveSense Jazz Duo meter system and are particularly useful for people who need frequent glucose monitoring throughout the day.

The strips are appropriate for:

  • People with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes
  • Those requiring multiple daily glucose checks
  • Individuals who need accurate readings with small blood samples
  • People looking for reliable diabetes monitoring solutions

Why Choose Individual Strip Packaging

Each test strip comes individually wrapped in foil packaging to protect it from moisture and environmental factors that could affect accuracy. This packaging system helps maintain the stability of the strips until you use them, ensuring consistent results over time.

The individual packaging also makes the strips convenient for travel and storage in different locations, such as your workplace, car, or travel bag.

Storage and Handling Requirements

Store your test strips in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep them in their original packaging until ready to use. Do not use strips that have passed their expiry date, as this may affect the accuracy of your glucose readings.

Handle the strips with clean, dry hands and avoid touching the test area of the strip. Insert the strip into your meter immediately after removing it from its packaging for the most accurate results.

This product is a medicine. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking other medicines.

How to Use Your Test Strips

Remove one test strip from its individual foil packaging just before you plan to test your blood glucose. Insert the strip into your AgaMatrix WaveSense Jazz Duo meter with the contact bars facing the meter. The meter will turn on automatically when you insert the strip correctly.

Wait for the meter to display the blood drop symbol, indicating it is ready for your blood sample. Use your lancing device to obtain a small drop of blood from your fingertip, then touch the blood to the narrow channel at the tip of the test strip. The meter will count down and display your glucose result within seconds.

Testing Frequency and Timing

Follow your healthcare provider's recommendations for how often to test your blood glucose levels. Many people with diabetes test before meals, two hours after meals, and at bedtime, but your testing schedule may be different based on your individual needs and treatment plan.

Record your results in a logbook or diabetes management app to help you and your healthcare team track patterns in your glucose levels. Remove and dispose of the used test strip safely after each test, as strips are designed for single use only.

Potential Issues with Blood Glucose Testing

Like all medical devices, AgaMatrix WaveSense Jazz Duo Test Strips can occasionally produce unexpected results or cause minor issues, although most people use them without problems. If you experience persistent issues with your testing routine, it may affect your electrical health and diagnostic monitoring routine.

The most common issues relate to user technique, strip handling, or environmental factors rather than the strips themselves. Incorrect blood sample application or using expired strips may lead to inaccurate readings.

Possible issues you might encounter include:

  • Error messages on your meter display
  • Difficulty obtaining sufficient blood sample
  • Inconsistent readings between tests
  • Strip not being recognised by the meter
  • Blood sample not being drawn into the strip
  • Readings that seem unusually high or low
  • Strip bending or breaking during insertion
  • Moisture damage to strips if packaging is compromised
  • Difficulty removing strips from packaging
  • Control solution giving unexpected results

If you experience these or any other issues with your test strips, speak to your doctor or pharmacist right away. For more information about reporting device problems please see the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
