Pirinase Nasal Spray for Hayfever Relief - Triple Pack

What is Pirinase Hayfever Nasal Spray?

Pirinase Hayfever Nasal Spray contains fluticasone propionate, a corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation in your nasal passages. This pirinase nasal spray works by blocking the release of substances that cause allergic reactions, providing relief from hayfever symptoms. Each bottle contains 60 measured sprays, and this pack provides you with three bottles for extended treatment.

The spray is designed to treat seasonal allergic rhinitis, commonly known as hayfever. You can use it to manage symptoms caused by pollen from trees, grasses, and weeds during allergy season. The medication works locally in your nose, which means it targets the source of your symptoms directly.

How Does This Hayfever Treatment Work?

Fluticasone propionate belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids. When you spray it into your nose, it reduces swelling and inflammation in your nasal passages. This action helps prevent and treat the symptoms that occur when your immune system overreacts to allergens like pollen.

The medication takes time to build up its full effect, so you may not notice immediate relief. Most people find their symptoms improve within a few days of regular use, with maximum benefit typically achieved after one to two weeks of consistent treatment.

Symptoms This Nasal Spray Treats

This fluticasone nasal spray effectively manages multiple hayfever symptoms that can disrupt your daily activities. The medication addresses both the immediate discomfort and the underlying inflammation that causes these symptoms.

  • Blocked or stuffy nose
  • Runny nose with clear discharge
  • Sneezing fits
  • Itchy nose and nasal passages

Many people find that managing their nasal symptoms also helps reduce related issues like watery eyes and general discomfort. If you need additional support for other allergy symptoms, you might want to explore our allergy and hay fever collection for complementary treatments.

Who Can Use Pirinase Hayfever Nasal Spray?

This nasal spray is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over. You should not use it if you are allergic to fluticasone propionate or any of the other ingredients in the spray. If you have never used a nasal corticosteroid before, it's worth discussing with your pharmacist whether this treatment is appropriate for your specific situation.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medication. If you have any infections in your nose or have recently had nasal surgery, you should also seek medical advice before starting treatment.

This product is a medicine. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking other medicines.

How to Use Your Nasal Spray Correctly

Before first use, you need to prime the spray by pressing the pump several times until a fine mist appears. Shake the bottle gently before each use. Remove the dust cap and hold the bottle upright. Insert the nozzle into one nostril while closing the other nostril with your finger. Tilt your head slightly forward and breathe in gently through your nose while pressing down firmly on the pump. Repeat in the other nostril if directed.

After use, wipe the nozzle with a clean tissue and replace the dust cap. Rinse your mouth with water if any spray accidentally gets into your mouth. Clean the nozzle regularly by removing it and rinsing in warm water, then allowing it to dry completely before reattaching.

Recommended Dosage and Treatment Duration

Adults and children over 12 years should use two sprays in each nostril once daily, preferably in the morning. Once your symptoms are controlled, you may be able to reduce this to one spray in each nostril daily. Do not exceed the recommended dose, as this will not improve your symptoms faster and may increase the risk of side effects.

For optimal results, use the spray regularly even when you feel well, as this helps prevent symptoms from returning. If your symptoms do not improve after seven days of treatment, or if they worsen, consult your pharmacist or doctor. You should not use this medication for more than six months without medical supervision.
