Otrivine Congestion Relief Nasal Decongestant Spray 10ml

Fast-Acting Relief for Blocked Nasal Passages

You can experience rapid relief from nasal congestion with this nasal decongestant spray that works within minutes of application. The active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride helps reduce swelling in your nasal passages, allowing you to breathe more easily through your nose.

This otrivine spray provides effective blocked nose relief for up to 10 hours, making it suitable for daytime or nighttime use. You'll find it particularly helpful when dealing with congestion caused by colds, sinusitis, or hay fever symptoms that affect your daily activities.

How This Decongestant Medicine Works

The spray works by constricting blood vessels in your nasal lining, which reduces inflammation and swelling. This action opens up your nasal passages, allowing air to flow more freely and helping you breathe normally again.

You can use this nasal congestion treatment when your nose feels completely blocked or when you're experiencing difficulty breathing through your nostrils. The measured dose pump ensures you receive the correct amount with each application.

Suitable Usage and Duration

This decongestant is suitable for adults and children over 12 years of age. You should not use it for more than 7 consecutive days, as prolonged use can lead to rebound congestion when you stop treatment.

  • Provides relief within 2-3 minutes of application
  • Effects last up to 10 hours per dose
  • Suitable for cold and flu symptoms
  • Can be used alongside other allergy and hay fever treatments

When to Avoid This Treatment

You should not use this spray if you're allergic to xylometazoline or any other ingredients in the formulation. Avoid use if you have certain heart conditions, high blood pressure, or are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their healthcare provider before using this medicine. Children under 12 years should not use this particular strength without medical supervision.

Storage and Handling Instructions

You should store this spray at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep the bottle upright and ensure the cap is tightly closed after each use to maintain the sterility of the solution.

The 10ml bottle provides approximately 70 measured doses when used as directed. You should not share this spray with other people to prevent the spread of infection.

This product is a medicine. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking other medicines.

Proper Application Technique

You should blow your nose gently before using the spray to clear any mucus from your nostrils. Remove the protective cap and hold the bottle upright with your thumb at the base and your index finger on the pump.

Insert the nozzle into one nostril whilst closing the other nostril with your finger. Press down firmly on the pump whilst breathing in gently through your nose. Repeat the process for the other nostril if needed.

Recommended Dosage Schedule

Adults and children over 12 years should use one spray in each nostril up to three times daily. You should wait at least 6-8 hours between applications to avoid overuse.

You must not exceed three applications per day or use this medicine for more than seven consecutive days. If your symptoms persist beyond this period, you should consult your pharmacist or doctor for alternative treatment options.
