Numark Early Pregnancy Test - Reliable Home Testing Kit

You can detect pregnancy from as early as the first day of your missed period with this reliable home testing kit. The Numark pregnancy test uses advanced immunoassay technology to detect human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) hormone in your urine, providing accurate results in the privacy of your own home.

This pack contains two individual test sticks, giving you the option to confirm your results or test again if needed. Each test is designed to be easy to use and provides clear, easy-to-read results within minutes.

How the Test Detects Pregnancy

The test works by detecting hCG, a hormone produced by the placenta shortly after a fertilised egg attaches to the uterine wall. This hormone doubles approximately every 48-72 hours during early pregnancy, making it a reliable indicator of conception.

When you urinate on the test stick, the hCG hormone binds to specific antibodies within the test strip, creating a visible line that indicates a positive result. The control line appears to show the test is working correctly, regardless of whether you are pregnant.

Who Should Use This Test

This early pregnancy test is suitable for women who suspect they may be pregnant and want to test from the first day of their missed period. It's particularly useful if you have regular menstrual cycles and can accurately identify when your period is due.

The test is appropriate for:

  • Women with regular menstrual cycles seeking early detection
  • Those who prefer testing at home rather than visiting a clinic
  • Anyone wanting a second test to confirm initial results
  • Women who need quick, private pregnancy testing

If you're also managing other aspects of your health, you might find our women's health collection helpful for additional wellness products.

Accuracy and Reliability

When used correctly from the first day of your missed period, this test provides over 99% accuracy in laboratory studies. However, the accuracy depends on following the instructions precisely and testing at the right time in your cycle.

Testing too early, before your missed period, may result in a false negative as hCG levels might not yet be high enough to detect. If you receive a negative result but still suspect pregnancy, wait a few days and test again or consult your healthcare provider.

Storage and Shelf Life

Store the test sticks in a cool, dry place at room temperature between 2°C and 30°C. Do not freeze the tests or expose them to direct sunlight or excessive heat, as this may affect their accuracy.

Check the expiry date on the packaging before use. Do not use tests that have passed their expiry date, as this may lead to inaccurate results. Keep the tests in their original foil pouches until you're ready to use them to maintain their effectiveness.

This product is a medicine. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking other medicines.

How to Use Your Pregnancy Test

Remove one test stick from its foil pouch just before use. Hold the test by the thumb grip, ensuring you don't touch the absorbent tip or result windows. Place the absorbent tip in your urine stream for 5 seconds, or alternatively, collect your urine in a clean container and dip the tip for 5 seconds.

After sampling, lay the test flat on a clean, dry surface with the result windows facing upward. Avoid moving or disturbing the test during the waiting period to ensure accurate results.

Reading Your Test Results

Wait exactly 3 minutes before reading your results. A positive result shows two lines in the result window - one in the control area and one in the test area. The test line may be lighter than the control line, but any visible line indicates a positive result.

A negative result shows only one line in the control area. If no lines appear, or if the control line doesn't appear, the test is invalid and you should repeat with a new test stick. Do not read results after 10 minutes as this may lead to inaccurate interpretation.

Understanding Test Limitations and Considerations

Like all pregnancy testing methods, the Numark Early Pregnancy Test has certain limitations you should be aware of. While generally reliable, various factors can affect the accuracy of your results. If you're managing other health conditions, our vitamins and supplements range may support your overall wellbeing during this time.

The most common issues that may affect test accuracy include testing too early in pregnancy, diluted urine from excessive fluid intake, or certain medical conditions that affect hormone levels.

Factors that may influence your test results include:

  • Testing before your missed period when hCG levels are still low
  • Drinking excessive fluids before testing, which dilutes urine
  • Certain fertility treatments containing hCG hormone
  • Recent pregnancy loss or termination
  • Rare medical conditions affecting hormone production
  • Expired or improperly stored test kits
  • Not following the timing instructions precisely
  • Certain medications that may interfere with hormone detection
  • Very early miscarriage that may still show positive results
  • Ectopic pregnancy, which may produce lower hCG levels
  • Ovarian cysts or other reproductive system conditions
  • Menopause, which can occasionally cause false positive results

If you experience these or any other concerns about your test results, speak to your doctor or pharmacist right away. For more information about reporting side effects please see the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
