Carnation Oval Felt Corn Pads 5mm

These oval-shaped felt pads provide cushioning and pressure relief for corns on your feet. Each pad measures 5mm in thickness and features a soft felt construction designed to reduce friction between your corn and footwear. The oval design allows for targeted placement over the affected area whilst maintaining comfort during daily activities.

You receive multiple pads in each pack, allowing for regular replacement as needed. The adhesive backing ensures the pads stay securely in place throughout the day, providing consistent protection for your corn.

How Felt Corn Pads Provide Relief

The corn pads work by creating a protective barrier between your corn and your shoe. The 5mm thickness elevates the surrounding skin, reducing direct pressure on the corn itself. This cushioning effect helps minimise pain and discomfort when walking or standing.

The felt material absorbs some of the impact forces that would otherwise be transmitted directly to the corn. By redistributing pressure across a wider area, these pads can help prevent further irritation and allow existing corns to heal more effectively.

Who Should Use Oval Corn Pads

These pads are suitable for adults experiencing discomfort from corns on their feet. They work particularly well for corns located on areas where shoes create pressure points. If you're looking for additional foot care solutions, you may find other products that complement this treatment.

The oval shape makes these pads especially suitable for:

  • Corns on the tops of toes where shoes rub
  • Corns between toes that need gentle separation
  • Areas requiring targeted pressure relief without covering large skin surfaces
  • People who need discreet corn protection that fits inside most shoe types

Why Choose 5mm Thickness

The 5mm thickness provides substantial cushioning without making your shoes feel too tight. This measurement offers an optimal balance between protection and practicality for everyday wear. Thinner pads may not provide adequate relief, whilst thicker options can make shoes uncomfortable or cause your foot to slip.

The consistent thickness across each pad ensures even pressure distribution. This helps prevent the creation of new pressure points around the edges of the pad, which can sometimes occur with poorly designed corn treatments.

Suitable for Daily Use

You can wear these corn pads throughout your normal daily activities. The adhesive is designed to maintain its grip during regular movement, including walking and light exercise. Replace the pad when the adhesive begins to lose its effectiveness or if the felt becomes compressed.

Store unused pads in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the packaging sealed to maintain the adhesive quality of unused pads.

This product is a medicine. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking other medicines.

How to Apply Your Corn Pads

Clean and dry the affected area thoroughly before application. Remove the backing paper from the adhesive side of the pad. Position the pad directly over the corn, ensuring the corn sits in the centre of the oval opening. Press firmly around all edges to secure the pad in place.

Check that the pad lies flat against your skin without any air bubbles or lifted edges. The pad should feel comfortable and not create any new pressure points when you put your shoe on.

When to Replace and Remove

Replace the pad daily or when it becomes loose, wet, or loses its cushioning effect. To remove, gently peel away from one edge, taking care not to irritate the surrounding skin. If any adhesive residue remains, clean the area gently with warm soapy water.

Do not leave the same pad in place for more than 24 hours. If you experience any increased pain, redness, or signs of infection around the corn, remove the pad immediately and consult your pharmacist or doctor.

Possible Side Effects of Corn Pads

Like all medicines, Carnation Oval Felt Corn Pads can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. Some people may develop sensitivity to the adhesive or experience skin irritation from prolonged use. If you need additional skin care products to manage any irritation, speak to your pharmacist for advice.

Most side effects are mild and occur around the application site. These typically resolve once you remove the pad and allow your skin to recover.

Known side effects may include:

  • Skin redness around the pad edges
  • Mild itching or irritation
  • Allergic reaction to the adhesive
  • Skin maceration from moisture buildup
  • Contact dermatitis
  • Increased sensitivity in the treated area
  • Temporary skin discolouration
  • Mild burning sensation upon removal

If you experience these or any other side effects, speak to your doctor or pharmacist right away. For more information about reporting side effects please see the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
