Carnation Footcare Cryospray Freeze Spray for Effective Wart Treatment

Carnation Footcare Cryospray is a freeze spray designed to treat common warts and verrucas on your feet and hands. This cryotherapy treatment works by freezing the affected tissue at extremely low temperatures, causing the wart to gradually fall away over the following weeks. The 50ml canister provides multiple applications for treating several warts or for repeat treatments as needed.

You can use this cryospray treatment at home without needing to visit a healthcare professional for minor wart removal. The product delivers a controlled freezing action that targets the wart tissue whilst minimising damage to surrounding healthy skin.

How Cryotherapy Freezing Works on Warts

The cryospray works by applying intense cold directly to the wart tissue, typically reaching temperatures of around -57°C. This extreme cold destroys the wart cells by forming ice crystals within them, which disrupts the cellular structure. The freezing process also stimulates your immune system to recognise and attack the human papillomavirus (HPV) that causes warts.

After treatment, the frozen wart tissue will gradually turn black and fall away naturally over 10-14 days. New healthy skin will grow in its place. Some warts may require multiple treatments spaced 2-3 weeks apart for complete removal, particularly larger or more stubborn lesions.

Who Should Use Carnation Cryospray

This freeze spray is suitable for adults and children over 4 years old who have common warts or verrucas on their hands or feet. It works particularly well on smaller warts that have not been present for extended periods. You should consider professional medical advice for warts in sensitive areas or if you have underlying health conditions.

The treatment is ideal for people who want to address warts quickly without multiple clinic visits. Our foot care collection includes various treatments for common foot problems that may complement your wart removal routine.

  • Suitable for common warts and verrucas on hands and feet
  • Can be used by adults and children over 4 years
  • Effective for small to medium-sized warts
  • Convenient home treatment option

Precise Application System

The Carnation Cryospray features a targeted application system that allows you to direct the freezing spray precisely onto the wart. This helps ensure that you treat only the affected area whilst protecting the surrounding healthy skin. The controlled delivery system makes it easier to achieve consistent results with each application.

The 50ml size provides sufficient product for treating multiple warts or for repeat applications on stubborn lesions. Each application typically requires only a few seconds of spray contact to achieve the necessary freezing effect.

Storage and Handling Requirements

You should store this cryospray at room temperature away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Keep the canister upright when not in use and ensure the cap is securely fitted after each application. The pressurised container should not be punctured or exposed to temperatures above 50°C.

Always read the full instructions before use and follow the recommended application guidelines. The product should be kept out of reach of children when not being used under adult supervision.

This product is a medicine. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking other medicines.

How to Apply Carnation Cryospray Correctly

Before applying the cryospray, ensure the wart area is clean and dry. Remove the protective cap and hold the canister upright approximately 1cm away from the wart. Press the nozzle firmly for 2-3 seconds to deliver the freezing spray directly onto the wart surface. You should see the treated area turn white immediately, indicating that the freezing action is working.

Allow the treated area to return to normal skin colour before covering with a plaster if needed. Do not apply the spray for longer than the recommended time as this may cause unnecessary damage to healthy skin around the wart.

Treatment Frequency and Duration

You can repeat the treatment every 2-3 weeks if the wart has not completely disappeared after the first application. Most warts will require 2-4 treatments for complete removal, depending on their size and how long they have been present. Stop treatment once the wart has completely disappeared and normal skin texture has returned.

If you do not see any improvement after 3-4 treatments, or if the wart appears to be getting larger, consult your pharmacist or doctor for alternative treatment options. Some warts may be more resistant to cryotherapy and require professional medical treatment.

Potential Side Effects of Cryotherapy Treatment

Like all medicines, Carnation Footcare Cryospray can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. The freezing action is designed to be controlled, but some temporary discomfort and skin changes are normal parts of the treatment process. You can find additional skin care products to help manage any temporary irritation during the healing process.

The most common side effects include temporary pain or stinging during and immediately after application, along with redness and swelling around the treated area. These effects typically resolve within a few hours to days as your skin begins the healing process.

  • Pain or stinging sensation during application
  • Temporary redness around the treated area
  • Mild swelling of surrounding skin
  • Blistering at the application site
  • Temporary darkening of the treated wart
  • Skin irritation or sensitivity
  • Formation of a scab over the treated area
  • Temporary numbness in the treated area
  • Minor bleeding as the wart tissue dies
  • Temporary changes in skin pigmentation
  • Mild burning sensation after treatment
  • Formation of new skin as healing progresses

If you experience these or any other side effects, speak to your doctor or pharmacist right away. For more information about reporting side effects please see the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
