Bazuka Sub-Zero Freeze Verruca Removal Treatment for Effective Wart Care

You can treat verrucas and warts at home with this cryotherapy treatment that uses freezing technology to target affected skin areas. The treatment works by applying controlled cold temperatures directly to the wart or verruca, causing the treated tissue to gradually separate from healthy skin over the following weeks.

This verruca removal treatment contains dimethyl ether and propane in a pressurised canister, delivering temperatures as low as -57°C to the treatment area. The 50ml size provides multiple applications for treating several warts or verrucas as needed.

How Cryotherapy Freezing Technology Works on Warts

The treatment creates an ice ball on the wart surface, freezing the affected tissue and disrupting the blood supply to the area. This process triggers your body's natural healing response, gradually causing the treated wart to fall off as new healthy skin forms underneath.

You apply the treatment using the included foam applicators, which allow precise targeting of individual warts without affecting surrounding healthy skin. The freezing sensation typically lasts for a few seconds during application, followed by a thawing period as normal skin temperature returns.

Suitable for Common and Plantar Warts on Hands and Feet

This treatment is designed for adults and children over 4 years old who have common warts on hands or plantar warts (verrucas) on feet. You can use it on multiple warts, treating them individually with separate applications.

The treatment is particularly suitable for:

  • Raised warts on fingers and hands
  • Plantar warts on the soles of feet
  • Warts that have not responded to other treatments
  • People seeking a clinic-style treatment at home

You should not use this treatment on facial warts, genital warts, or on broken or infected skin. If you have diabetes or circulation problems, consult your pharmacist before use. For comprehensive foot care solutions, you may also consider other treatments for maintaining healthy feet.

Why Single-Use Applicators Ensure Hygienic Treatment

Each treatment uses a fresh foam applicator, preventing cross-contamination between different warts or family members. This single-use system ensures hygienic application and reduces the risk of spreading the virus that causes warts to other areas of your body.

The foam applicators are designed to hold the correct amount of freezing agent for effective treatment while protecting your fingers from direct contact with the cold spray. This design makes the treatment safer and more comfortable to self-administer at home.

Clinical Effectiveness and Treatment Expectations

Most warts require 1-3 treatments spaced 2 weeks apart for complete removal. You may notice the treated area becoming darker or forming a blister within 24-48 hours, which is a normal part of the healing process. The wart typically falls off within 10-14 days after treatment.

Store the canister at room temperature and keep it upright when not in use. Do not store in temperatures above 50°C or expose to direct sunlight. The pressurised container should be kept away from heat sources and disposed of responsibly when empty.

This product is a medicine. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking other medicines.

How to Apply the Freeze Treatment Correctly

You should read all instructions carefully before first use and ensure the treatment area is clean and dry. Remove a foam applicator from the pack and attach it firmly to the canister nozzle. Hold the canister upright and press down for 2-3 seconds to fill the applicator with freezing agent.

Apply the filled applicator directly to the centre of the wart, pressing gently for 10-20 seconds depending on wart size. You will feel an intense cold sensation during application, which is normal. Remove the applicator and dispose of it immediately after single use.

Treatment Frequency and Repeat Applications

You should wait at least 2 weeks between treatments to allow your skin to heal properly. Most warts require 2-3 treatments for complete removal, though some may need additional applications. Do not treat the same wart more than 4 times without consulting a healthcare professional.

If the wart has not improved after 12 weeks of treatment, or if you notice signs of infection such as increased redness, warmth, or pus, stop using the treatment and consult your pharmacist or doctor. Children should always be supervised by an adult during application.

Understanding Potential Side Effects of Cryotherapy Treatment

Like all medicines, Bazuka Sub-Zero Freeze Verruca & Wart Removal Treatment can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. Most side effects are related to the freezing action and affect the treated skin area locally. For additional skin care support during treatment, you may find other products helpful for maintaining healthy skin.

The most common side effects include temporary pain, redness, and swelling at the treatment site, which typically resolve within a few days. Some people may experience blistering or darkening of the treated area as part of the normal healing process.

Known side effects may include:

  • Pain or stinging sensation during and after application
  • Redness and swelling around the treated area
  • Blister formation within 24-48 hours
  • Temporary darkening or discolouration of treated skin
  • Mild bleeding when the wart separates
  • Temporary numbness in the treated area
  • Skin irritation or sensitivity
  • Formation of a scab over the treatment site
  • Temporary white appearance of surrounding skin
  • Mild scarring in rare cases

If you experience these or any other side effects, speak to your doctor or pharmacist right away. For more information about reporting side effects please see the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
