Becodefence Plus Nasal Spray Allergy Relief

Becodefence Plus is a preservative-free nasal spray designed to provide relief from allergic rhinitis symptoms. This medical device creates a protective barrier in your nasal passages whilst delivering targeted relief from sneezing, congestion, and runny nose associated with seasonal and perennial allergies.

The spray contains sodium cromoglicate, which works by stabilising mast cells in your nasal tissues to prevent the release of histamine and other inflammatory substances. You can use this nasal spray allergy treatment throughout the allergy season for ongoing symptom management.

How Becodefence Plus Works in Your Nasal Passages

When you spray Becodefence Plus into your nostrils, the active ingredient sodium cromoglicate forms a protective layer on your nasal mucosa. This barrier prevents allergens like pollen, dust mites, and pet dander from triggering your immune response.

The cromoglicate works by blocking calcium channels in mast cells, preventing degranulation and the subsequent release of inflammatory mediators. This action reduces the typical allergic symptoms you experience when exposed to environmental allergens. For comprehensive allergy management, you might also consider browsing our allergy and hay fever collection for additional treatment options.

Who Should Use This Preservative-Free Formula

Becodefence Plus suits adults and children over 6 years who suffer from allergic rhinitis. You may find this treatment particularly beneficial if you experience seasonal hay fever or year-round allergic reactions to indoor allergens.

This nasal spray is appropriate for you if you:

  • Experience frequent sneezing, nasal congestion, or runny nose due to allergies
  • Need a preservative-free option due to sensitivity concerns
  • Require long-term allergy management throughout pollen seasons
  • Want a non-drowsy alternative to oral antihistamines

Benefits of Preservative-Free Nasal Treatment

The preservative-free formulation of Becodefence Plus reduces the risk of nasal irritation and sensitivity reactions that can occur with preserved nasal sprays. This makes it suitable for regular, long-term use without concerns about preservative accumulation in your nasal tissues.

Preservative-free formulations maintain the natural moisture balance in your nasal passages whilst delivering effective symptom relief. You can use this spray multiple times daily without the drying effects sometimes associated with preserved nasal medications.

Clinical Suitability and Storage Requirements

Store Becodefence Plus at room temperature below 25°C and protect from direct sunlight. Once opened, you should use the spray within the timeframe specified on the packaging to maintain sterility and effectiveness.

The spray is clinically suitable for both short-term symptom relief and long-term prophylactic use during allergy seasons. You should shake the bottle gently before each use to ensure proper mixing of the formulation.

This product is a medicine. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking other medicines.

Proper Administration of Becodefence Plus

Before using your nasal spray, gently blow your nose to clear your nasal passages. Remove the protective cap and shake the bottle gently. Insert the nozzle into one nostril whilst closing the other nostril with your finger. Tilt your head slightly forward and squeeze the bottle firmly whilst breathing in gently through your nose. Repeat the process for the other nostril.

Recommended Dosage and Frequency

Adults and children over 6 years should follow the dosage instructions provided on the product packaging or as directed by your healthcare provider. You may use the spray regularly during allergy seasons for ongoing symptom prevention. Clean the nozzle with a damp cloth after each use and replace the protective cap to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination.
