Panadol Extra Soluble Tablets for Fast Pain Relief

You can rely on these soluble tablets to provide effective relief from headaches, dental pain, period pain, and other everyday aches. Each tablet contains paracetamol and caffeine, which work together to target pain and discomfort. The soluble format allows for faster absorption compared to standard tablets, making it a convenient choice when you need quick relief.

The effervescent formulation dissolves completely in water, creating a pleasant-tasting drink that's easier to swallow than conventional tablets. This makes it particularly suitable if you have difficulty swallowing solid medications or prefer liquid preparations.

How Paracetamol and Caffeine Work Together

Paracetamol works by blocking the production of prostaglandins in your brain, which are chemicals that cause pain and fever. The addition of caffeine enhances the pain-relieving effects of paracetamol, making the combination more effective than paracetamol alone.

When you dissolve the tablet in water, the active ingredients are absorbed more quickly through your digestive system. This faster absorption means you may experience relief sooner than with standard tablet formulations. The panadol extra soluble format is designed to start working within 15-30 minutes of taking it.

Who Can Benefit from Soluble Pain Relief

These tablets are suitable for adults and children over 12 years who need effective pain relief. They're particularly helpful if you experience regular headaches, muscle aches, or period pain. The soluble format makes them ideal for people who struggle with swallowing tablets or prefer liquid medications.

This medication is appropriate for various types of pain including:

  • Headaches and migraines
  • Dental pain and toothache
  • Period pain and menstrual cramps
  • Muscle aches and joint pain

You can also explore our comprehensive pain relief collection for additional options that may suit your specific needs.

Why Choose Soluble Paracetamol Tablets

The soluble format offers several advantages over standard tablets. The effervescent action helps break down the medication quickly, allowing for faster absorption into your bloodstream. This can be particularly beneficial when you need prompt pain relief.

The pleasant taste makes the medication more palatable, and you can adjust the amount of water used to suit your preference. The tablets dissolve completely, leaving no residue, and the resulting drink is easy to consume even when you're feeling unwell.

Storage and Shelf Life Considerations

You should store these tablets in a cool, dry place below 25°C, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep them in their original packaging until you're ready to use them, as exposure to humidity can affect the effervescent properties. The tablets should be used before the expiry date printed on the packaging.

Always check that the tablets are intact and haven't crumbled before use. If the packaging is damaged or the tablets appear discoloured, don't use them and consult your pharmacist for advice.

This product is a medicine. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking other medicines.

Recommended Dosage for Adults and Children

Adults and children over 16 years should dissolve one to two tablets in a glass of water every four to six hours as needed. You should not exceed eight tablets in any 24-hour period. Children aged 12-15 years should take one tablet dissolved in water every four to six hours, with a maximum of four tablets in 24 hours.

Always leave at least four hours between doses, even if your pain returns sooner. Taking doses too close together can lead to overdose, which can cause serious liver damage. If you need pain relief more frequently than every four hours, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

How to Prepare and Take Your Soluble Tablets

Drop the required number of tablets into a glass containing at least 100ml of cold or warm water. Wait for the tablets to dissolve completely before drinking - this usually takes one to two minutes. Stir gently if needed to help the dissolution process.

Drink the entire contents of the glass to ensure you receive the full dose. You can take the medication with or without food, though taking it with food may help reduce any potential stomach irritation. Don't save any leftover dissolved solution for later use - always prepare a fresh dose when needed.

Understanding Potential Side Effects

Like all medicines, Panadol Extra Soluble can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. If you're exploring different cold and flu treatments alongside pain relief, be aware that some medications may contain similar ingredients.
