Earol Ear Wax Removal Spray and Ear Washing Bulb

You can effectively manage ear wax build-up with this combination treatment that includes both an Earol spray and an ear washing bulb. The spray contains olive oil which naturally softens hardened ear wax, whilst the bulb syringe allows you to gently flush away loosened wax debris. This dual approach provides a complete solution for maintaining healthy ear hygiene at home.

The olive oil formulation works by penetrating the ear wax, gradually breaking down its structure over several applications. You'll find this gentler than mechanical removal methods, as it works with your ear's natural processes rather than forcing wax out immediately.

How This Ear Cleaning System Works

The ear wax removal spray delivers measured doses of olive oil directly into your ear canal through a specially designed nozzle. You apply the spray daily for 4-5 days to soften the wax thoroughly. The olive oil creates a lubricating layer that loosens the wax's grip on your ear canal walls.

After the softening period, you use the ear washing bulb filled with warm water to gently irrigate your ear. The bulb creates controlled water pressure that helps flush out the softened wax without causing discomfort or damage to your ear drum.

Who Should Use This Ear Wax Treatment

This treatment suits adults and children over 12 months who experience ear wax build-up symptoms. You might benefit from this product if you notice reduced hearing, ear fullness, or discomfort caused by excessive wax accumulation. Many people find it particularly useful for regular ear maintenance, especially if you're prone to wax build-up.

The treatment is appropriate for you if you experience:

  • Hearing difficulties due to wax blockage
  • Sensation of fullness or pressure in your ears
  • Mild discomfort from wax accumulation
  • Need for regular ear hygiene maintenance

If you have ear infections, perforated ear drums, or other ear, nose and throat conditions, consult your pharmacist before using this product.

Why Choose Preservative-Free Ear Care

The Earol spray contains no preservatives, making it suitable for sensitive ears and regular use. Preservative-free formulations reduce the risk of irritation or allergic reactions that some people experience with conventional ear drops. This makes the treatment more comfortable for extended use when dealing with stubborn wax build-up.

The natural olive oil base provides effective wax softening without harsh chemicals. You can use this treatment repeatedly as needed without concerns about preservative accumulation in your ear canal.

Storage and Clinical Suitability

Store the spray at room temperature and keep the bulb clean and dry between uses. The product remains effective for the duration stated on the packaging when stored correctly. You should replace the ear washing bulb periodically to maintain hygiene standards.

This treatment is clinically suitable for most people, but avoid use if you have known allergies to olive oil or if your ear drum is perforated. The gentle formulation makes it appropriate for regular maintenance use in healthy ears.

This product is a medicine. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking other medicines.

How to Apply the Ear Wax Removal Spray

You should apply the Earol spray once daily for 4-5 consecutive days to soften the ear wax effectively. Tilt your head to one side and insert the spray nozzle gently into your ear opening. Press the pump once to deliver the measured dose, then remain in position for a few minutes to allow the olive oil to penetrate the wax. Repeat the process for your other ear if needed.

Keep your head tilted for several minutes after application to ensure the oil reaches the wax deposit. You may notice some oil leakage, which is normal. Wipe away excess oil from the outer ear with a clean tissue.

Using the Ear Washing Bulb Safely

After completing the 4-5 day softening treatment, fill the ear washing bulb with lukewarm water. Tilt your head over a sink or basin and gently squeeze the bulb to create a steady stream of water into your ear canal. The water pressure should be gentle and comfortable, never forceful.

Allow the water to flow out naturally, bringing softened wax with it. You may need to repeat the irrigation process several times until the water runs clear. Dry your outer ear gently with a clean towel afterwards, but avoid inserting anything into the ear canal.

Possible Side Effects of Ear Wax Removal Treatment

Like all medicines, Earol Ear Wax Removal Spray and Ear Washing Bulb can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. Most people tolerate this treatment well, but some may experience temporary discomfort during or after use. If you have sensitive ears or existing allergies , monitor your response carefully during initial applications.

The most commonly reported side effects include temporary ear discomfort, slight dizziness during irrigation, and temporary hearing changes immediately after treatment. These effects typically resolve quickly as your ear adjusts to the treatment.

Known side effects may include:

  • Temporary ear discomfort or irritation
  • Mild dizziness during ear irrigation
  • Temporary hearing changes immediately after use
  • Ear canal sensitivity to the olive oil
  • Slight nausea during bulb irrigation
  • Temporary feeling of fullness in the ear
  • Minor skin irritation around the ear opening
  • Temporary tinnitus or ear ringing
  • Allergic reaction to olive oil (rare)
  • Water trapped in ear canal after irrigation

If you experience these or any other side effects, speak to your doctor or pharmacist right away. For more information about reporting side effects please see the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
