Calprofen Ibuprofen Suspension for Children's Pain Relief

You can rely on Calprofen ibuprofen suspension to provide effective pain relief and fever reduction for your child. This orange-flavoured liquid medicine contains ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that helps reduce pain, inflammation and fever in children from 3 months of age.

The liquid formulation makes it easier for children to take compared to tablets, and the pleasant taste helps ensure your child receives their full dose. Each 5ml contains 100mg of ibuprofen, providing reliable relief from common childhood ailments including teething pain, headaches, earache, and symptoms of colds and flu.

How Ibuprofen Works to Reduce Pain and Fever

Ibuprofen works by blocking the production of prostaglandins, which are chemicals in your body that cause pain, inflammation and fever. By reducing these prostaglandins, the medicine helps to lower your child's temperature and ease their discomfort.

The anti-inflammatory properties of ibuprofen make it particularly effective for conditions involving swelling and inflammation, such as sprains, strains, or inflammatory conditions. You can expect to see the effects within 30-60 minutes of giving the dose, with peak effectiveness typically occurring within 1-2 hours.

Suitable for Children from 3 Months

This medicine is suitable for children from 3 months of age who weigh at least 5kg. It's particularly useful for managing various childhood conditions that cause pain or fever. For comprehensive pain management options, you may also want to explore our pain relief collection.

Calprofen is appropriate for treating:

  • Teething pain and discomfort
  • Headaches and general aches
  • Earache and throat pain
  • Fever associated with colds, flu or other infections

Sugar-Free Formula with Pleasant Orange Flavour

The sugar-free formulation helps protect your child's teeth whilst still providing a pleasant orange taste that children find acceptable. This makes medicine time less stressful for both you and your child, helping ensure they receive their full therapeutic dose.

The absence of sugar also makes this medicine suitable for children who need to limit their sugar intake, including those with diabetes or dental concerns. The liquid format allows for accurate dosing based on your child's age and weight.
