Xailin Night Eye Ointment for Overnight Dry Eye Relief

Xailin Night Eye Ointment provides long-lasting lubrication for your eyes during sleep. This preservative-free ointment contains white soft paraffin and liquid paraffin, which form a protective barrier over the eye surface to prevent moisture loss overnight.

The thicker consistency of this night eye ointment makes it ideal for bedtime use, as it remains in contact with your eye surface for extended periods. Unlike daytime eye drops, the ointment formulation provides sustained relief throughout the night when natural tear production decreases.

How Xailin Night Ointment Works on Your Eyes

The ointment works by creating a moisture-retaining film across your eye surface. White soft paraffin acts as an occlusive agent, reducing water evaporation from the tear film, whilst liquid paraffin provides additional lubrication.

When you apply the ointment before sleep, it spreads evenly across your closed eyelids and eye surface. This protective layer helps maintain eye moisture levels during the night when your eyes produce fewer natural tears and blink less frequently.

Who Should Use This Dry Eye Ointment

This ointment suits you if you experience dry, gritty, or uncomfortable eyes, particularly upon waking. It's suitable for people whose dry eye symptoms worsen overnight or who wake with sticky, uncomfortable eyes.

The preservative-free formulation makes it appropriate for frequent use and for those with sensitive eyes. You can find additional eye care products to complement your dry eye management routine.

  • People with chronic dry eye syndrome
  • Those experiencing overnight eye discomfort
  • Contact lens wearers with dry eyes
  • Individuals with reduced tear production

Why Choose Preservative-Free Eye Treatment

Preservative-free formulations reduce the risk of eye irritation and allergic reactions that can occur with preserved eye products. This is particularly important for overnight treatments, as the ointment remains in contact with your eyes for several hours.

The absence of preservatives makes this ointment suitable for long-term use without the cumulative toxic effects that some preservatives can have on the eye surface. Each tube maintains sterility through its design rather than chemical preservatives.

Storage and Clinical Suitability Information

Store the ointment below 25°C and use within 28 days of first opening. The 5g tube provides multiple applications, with each use requiring only a small amount of ointment.

This product is suitable for adults and children over 12 years. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them, though overnight use typically doesn't require lens wear.

This product is a medicine. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have an underlying medical condition or are taking other medicines.
